Francisco Joaquin Perez Rufete is a Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Espanyol. He is a midfielder who has tremendous dribbling and passing skills. He mainly functions on the wings.

Francisco Rufete progressed at the youth academy of FC Barcelona but played just one season and one league match for the senior side in the 1995-1996 season and was sold to CD Toledo in 1997. He then played for Real Mallorca and then Malaga and then in 2001 moved to Valencia. He won La Liga with Valencia in 2002 and 2004 and also the UEFA Cup in 2004. He was a regular for Valencia and played 132 league matches for Los Che.

In the summer of 2006 he was signed by Espanyol and has picked up the thread where he left it off at Espanyol.
